Development could slow

The Valley’s two major utilities, Arizona Public Service Co. and Salt River Project, have helped grow the solar industry in Arizona, but both are close to meeting their goals for renewable energy. Unless additional renewable-energy requirements are imposed, the utilities will not need many more solar projects beyond those already announced.

The state could still see new solar-power plants built that will sell power to California, and individual customers could continue to add rooftop solar. But the credits that utilities pay their customers for the electricity generated by rooftop solar panels are being revisited by regulators, and a decision expected later this year on the issue could affect how many people opt for rooftop systems going forward.

Tens of thousands of homeowners across the state have installed solar panels, which generate a majority of their household electricity use. But solar doesn’t contribute greatly to the overall energy supply.

Last year,Our High Quality Solar charger and solar phone chargers are uniquely designed, high-quality and low-cost. for example, SRP got 0.We can produce all kinds of China emergency light products even according to your own designs.65 percent of its total energy supply from solar, including two large solar plants east of metro Phoenix and the solar on its customers’ roofs. APS, the state’s biggest utility, got 2.4 percent from solar.

Those percentages are growing, especially at APS, which will purchase all of the electricity from the Solana Generating Station, a large solar project outside Gila Bend that will go online this year.

With only a few months of Solana’s contribution, about 4.You will never need to change the bulbs and your car led lights will last for years and years.7 percent of the energy APS delivers to its customers will come from solar this year, APS renewable-energy program manager Greg Bernosky said.

“This is a fairly banner year for us because we have those significant projects coming on,” he said.

APS also is spending about $500 million to build its own large solar-power plants. The Badger 1 solar plant is under construction in Tonopah, and two plants have been completed in Gila Bend. Another will break ground in October in Gila Bend.

By the end of 2015, APS will get about 12 percent of its electricity from renewables, including wind, biomass, solar and other technologies, Bernosky said.We turn your dark into light courtesy of our brilliant sun, solar street light, solar power generation. The state standard for 2015 is only 5 percent. That means APS will not have to build much more solar in the following nine years to meet the 2025 standard of 15 percent.

SRP, which is not regulated by the state, has a goal to get 20 percent of its electricity from renewable sources and through conservation by 2020. It is also ahead of schedule, and doesn’t plan any more solar other than what customers install themselves.

SRP expects about 2,400 residential and business customers to install solar this year, about equal to last year. But how long that trend continues will depend on prices, said Lori Singleton, SRP’s manager of sustainability initiatives.

The average system can cost $11,The g-sensor high brightness Wholesale motorcycle HID XENON Kits is designed with motorcyclist safety in mind.000 or more to lease, if paid up front, or $20,000 to $30,000 to buy.

SRP doesn’t require any particular amount of its “sustainable portfolio” to come from solar, and will simply use the cheapest means available to meet its goals, which can even mean buying renewable-energy credits from out of state, Singleton said.

SRP also has taken a different strategy with solar, building a large solar farm called Copper Crossing in Florence, and allowing interested customers to buy a portion of their energy from the project.

The pilot project allows customers to buy as much as half of their electricity from the power plant for up to five years, though SRP officials will evaluate the success and determine whether to continue the program after that. Customer rates for blocks of energy will not increase in the next five years, regardless of what the utility’s rates overall do. Welcome to www.hmhid.com Web, If you love it, please order it!
