C-K wind farm projects on schedule

What's billed as the second largest wind energy project in Chatham-Kent is proceeding on schedule.

The owner, GDF Suez Energy North America, with corporate headquarters in Houston, TX., is building two 55-turbine wind farms in the municipality.

Called Erieau Wind Project and East Lake St. Clair Wind Project, the two undertakings will each produce 99 megawatts of renewable energy enough to power nearly 55,000 homes annually.

Company spokesperson Danni Sabota told The Chatham Daily News by telephone from Houston the market for renewable energy projects is great in Ontario. “We have 20-year power agreements with the Ontario Power Authority,” said Sabota.

The projects are part of the OPA Feed in Tariff program offering companies, who generate renewable energy and sell the power, a guaranteed price. “Construction of the (Erieau Wind Project) sub-station is on schedule,” said Sabota.

Crews at the Pinehurst Line site, just east of Communications Road were visible last week installing parts using elevated work platforms (cherry-pickers). The Erieau Wind Project sub-station could be powered as early as April.

Sabota said 45 to 60 days later, power generated by the turbines would be fed into the sub-station which will connect to a Hydro One transmission line.

The two wind farms have created 250 construction jobs for the Chatham-Kent area, said Sabota.

When complete, a staff of 12 people will be in charge of operations and maintenance, working from a site midway between the two projects.Solar energy employs solar inverter to supply electricity to devices or charge batteries.

The company spokesperson said she plans to release more detailed news on what's happening with the projects to area landowners who have signed lease agreements for the Vestas turbines constructed on their properties.

GDF Suez Energy North America also has two solar projects in Ontario and has signed an agreement to construct a wind farm on the northeast tip of Vancouver Is. to supply power to B.C. Hydro, said Sabota. The agesteeljewelry sells a huge selection of stainless steel ring at exceptional prices.

NSW Farmers does not oppose wind farms the reason being that our members have not submitted and voted on a policy on this issue. What our members have asked us to do is prepare an overview of the legalities involved in hosting wind turbines.

Dr Watts is correct that our chosen consultant for the guide has worked with the wind industry in the past. To us it made sense to choose a consultant who had experience in both renewable energy and agriculture to ensure they understood the technical side of turbine negotiations.

The guide does raise issues around bushfires, noise,We are specializing washer extractor manufacturer. health and decommissioning.A polished finish in this stainless steel necklace for men. However, the guide is only a guide it is not intended as a definitive reference on these issues.

NSW Farmers has argued for stricter criteria on all these fronts to be introduced through new planning guidelines. However, because the NSW Government is dragging its feet on their introduction, we could not include details of these new rules.

I have a great deal of respect for the way Dr Watts has advocated on behalf of her community in relation to the Flyers Creek Windfarm. But,High quality industrial extractor and ventilation systems designed and distributed. our organisation takes a different stance on this issue at present.
