I
found myself spending too much time on strategies for keeping my phone
charged. I have chargers in each of the cars, and a charger by my bed so
it can charge while I’m sleeping. For times when the battery was low
while I watched TV, I put a charger in the living room.Read the full

I bought an extra battery and charger and found that almost enough, but
not quite, when I spent a day away from chargers and was shooting video
and taking photos at an NFL game last fall.
For
some, the solution lies in a bigger battery. My phone, a Samsung Galaxy
SIII, comes with a 2100 mAh battery. I do not understand the physics in
a battery, but I do understand that generally the greater the mAh (or
milliampere-hour of a battery), the longer it can power your device. A
4200 mAh might not give me twice the duration of use, but it should be a
general guide.
I
started hearing about a monster battery for my phone, with 7000 mAh,
from a company called ZeroLemon. The reviews on Amazon were great. For
$35, it was worth a shot.
Of
course that battery does not fit in the small slot the Samsung stock
battery does. The ZeroLemon looks like two batteries pasted together.
There’s the smaller stock size that does go into the slot, and a larger
one about the size of my phone that is attached to the smaller battery.
I
can no longer use the back that came with my phone, but the ZeroLemon
comes with its own well-made rubber back/case for my phone.
My
phone is now a bit thicker and heavier, but it goes now for over 18
hours of heavy use -- from when I wake until I can get to sleep on a too
long day.
Some reviewers report their phones going two or more days without charging. I just plug mine in at night while I sleep.
What about people with other phones, or phones that do not have replaceable batteries, like iPhones?
For
them, there are add-on battery packs. They are separate batteries that
plug into the USB port on the phones to either power them when the
internal battery is dead, or charge the internal battery. In a laser cutting machine if you follow a few simple rules, no hold-downs are required.
Mophie
and others make ones that are integrated phone cases, so like my
ZeroLemon, iPhone users can end up with a thicker, heavier phone that
can go further into the day without running out of power.
The
separate ones can be monsters. I found one reviewed model at 12000 mAh
with four connectors so it can power/charge iPads,The most highly
praised, best rated solar photovoltaic system are

weight and bulk being the price for power. And it was reasonably priced
at $40.
If
you are going to be out and about for a long day with one or more
devices, or on a trip where charging options might be limited, one of
these monsters might be worthwhile.
Bigger batteries and external battery packs are the common way to extend your electronic day,The standing seam roof clamp is reusable anchor point designed to mount on standing seam roofs. but there are some other options.
Small
solar panel devices will plug into your device and let it charge while
simply lying on the front seat of your car. I have thought about that
for my Bluetooth earpiece. The only place I use it is in my car, but it
won’t charge in the car when the car is not running. With a solar
charger, it could charge during the day while sitting in the parked car.
There
are also devices that hook into your phone that contain regular
batteries. That is a less efficient, and expensive,The pre-assembled Module clamp can

way to power your phone. But if you are on a camping trip, your phone
is dead and it’s too dark for a solar charger, then a stock of store
bought AA batteries could power your phone.
I
even found a crank generator to power phones on Amazon for when you are
truly out of luck. Hopefully you’ll have a 5-year-old you can bribe to
sit and crank your phone until it is charged.
